From the moment you join the Columbia Hospitality team, you will see that we have a genuine respect for each other and are committed to bringing enthusiasm and passion to our work. Each individual team member is empowered to use creativity to improve guest experiences and has accountability for all of his or her actions. We are dedicated to creating a culture at Columbia where people feel comfortable being themselves. We allow innate honesty and sincerity to guide everyday decisions and guest responses. Our team members say it best... I started working for Columbia Hospitality Inc. 12 years ago at the beautiful boutique hotel on San Juan Island called the Friday Harbor House. I started at the front desk and was soon handling reservations and night audit, while also working as the Harbor View Dining Room hostess and bartender. I partnered with local vendors to help create packages to entice more visitors to stay with us as well as take a tour or two! Soon I was booking groups and planning weddings at both Friday Harbor House and the Resort at Deer Harbor on Orcas Island. I also had the opportunity to manage the Star Fish Grill restaurant at the Resort at Deer Harbor. Three years ago I joined the Cedarbrook team in Seattle as an Event Planning Manager. Last summer I was asked to help out for a couple of weeks at one of our new properties, The Kenwood Inn and Spa, in Sonoma, Calif. It is terrific to be so well-rounded (not just from the great food here at Cedarbrook) that I can offer my assistance and expertise at other Columbia Hospitality properties. Things just keep getting better and better. I feel fortunate to be able to grow right along with Columbia Hospitality. Caroline Brown I joined Columbia Hospitality because a co-worker at another property incessantly raved about working at Bell Harbor. I took his word for it and interviewed for a banquet server position and the rest is history! I am amazed and inspired by all the growth opportunities I've been afforded over the years. From banquet server to captain at Bell Harbor, and food and beverage manager at Talaris, to director of food and beverage at Cedarbrook. I have literally come full circle in my growth with this company and now find myself back at Bell Harbor as the director of food and beverage. As I see it, the sky is the limit to how far I can take my career at Columbia. |
