Julie Meschke

Vice President of Human Resources

A strategic leader, Julie Meschke's extensive background spans over fifteen years in human resources, training and development, organizational effectiveness, and management consulting. Julie joined the Columbia corporate team in 2006.

Julie's primary goals include developing, planning, and implementing companywide programs, policies, and procedures relating to all phases of human resource management and development including company-wide recruiting, employee selection and screening, as well as orientation programs, employee relations, benefits, performance reviews, reward and recognition, and safety procedures.

Approaching human resources with a business focus and a results orientation, Julie is focused on aligning people and human resource processes to support our employees and achieve results for our owners.

Julie is an accomplished facilitator of group problem solving, strategic planning, assimilation, and team building programs; including coaching managers in leading and managing major change initiatives, improving employee performance, and shaping corporate culture.

Prior to joining the Columbia team, Julie honed her extensive capabilities while providing high-level leadership in several organizational and human resource capacities at Washington Mutual Bank, Myrio Corporation, and Starbucks.

Active in her community, Julie is a volunteer leader of Seattle Inner City Outings, a Sierra Club program that provides urban children with outdoor experiences. She is also a volunteer mentor at Ryther Child Center. Professional memberships include Society of Human Resource Management, American Society of Training and Development, and Organizational Development Network.

Julie has a masters in business administration from New York University and a bachelor of science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Northwestern University in Illinois.
